C.H.P.Combined Heat and Power production.
 
co-generationsynergistic generation of multiple types of energy, i.e. heat and electricity in order to achieve optimum fuel energy content conversion. I.e. very high efficiencies.
 
crude
Being in an unrefined or natural state; raw, archaic. A substance, especially petroleum, in its unrefined state.


Manure is a crude that can be refined into highly valuable fertilizer by anaerobic digestion. - byproduct is a hydrocarbon fuel: methane.
